Tours
Tours of our Gallery, Studios & Historical Building
The Cultural Arts Center offers tours of its beautiful facility, gallery exhibitions and art studios to groups and individuals of all ages. We have a number of options for different types of visiting groups.
Tour Format
Tours are typically one hour in length, and can accommodate as many as 25 people. The standard tour includes a walk-through of our galleries and art studios, as well as the historical aspects of our building. We can also provide tours of just the galleries, studios or history, if desired. All of our spaces are accessible, with ramps to our side entrances as well as elevator and automatic door.
Galleries
All of our standard tours highlight the exhibitions currently on display, provide information on the artists whose work is featured, and give participants time to explore the artwork and ask questions. This means an opportunity not just to see the work on display, but to gain key insight on it.
Art Studios
Our extensive studio space includes areas for ceramics, jewelry, weaving, painting, drawing, printmaking, bronze casting, sculpture and more. Tours cover all of the different areas of the Cultural Arts Center where art is made, and showcase the creative environment our instructors and students work in.
Historical Building
Did you know the Cultural Arts Center is one of Ohio’s oldest buildings and was once used as an armory? The structure that now houses the CAC was built in 1861 and operated as the Ohio State Arsenal for more than 100 years. Tours provide a general history of the building, as well as some of the highlights of its architecture.
