The "Friends of the Cultural Arts Center" is a non-profit, volunteer support organization for the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department's
Cultural Arts Center. FCAC supports the CAC through volunteerism, fundraising and promotion of our many programs, special events and more.

HISTORY & PROGRESSION
The Cultural Arts Center has had a support organization since its move to our current address in 1978, a span of more than 30 years of service to the community. Our support group first began in 1988 with a different name than its current one ("Friends"). "The Arsenal Group", or T.A.G., was so named because of the history of our elegant old building as an arsenal built during the 1860's. Acting as a fiduciary aid to the Cultural Arts Center's programs and activities, the support group applied for and obtained government 501(c)3 status as a non-profit organization. Since then, we have seen several slates of officers and many levels of activity and support. TAG was instrumental in acting as a fiscal agent, providing many wonderful art trips, conducting fundraising events, sponsoring special exhibits and programs, creating an initial membership campaign, producing marketing materials, purchasing supplies and equipment for CAC and much more. The staff and faculty of the CAC look forward to many more years of partnership with and support from the Friends group.
