 Volunteerism

"Friends" , our non-profit 501(c)3 organization, provides support services to meet the goals and mission of the Cultural Arts Center (CAC). Among its most important services is supplying volunteers who function in different roles for our various events, activities and routine tasks. Without volunteers we would not be able to provide the wealth of programs available at CAC. This need has become even more critical in the last few years as the city undergoes ever increasing budget contraints. Volunteers help in a very real way to enable Friends to provide needed equipment to studios, food for exhibit openings, operation of the student gift shop.

Volunteer roles can range widely from a few minutes spent labeling envelopes to an afternoon doing courtyard clean-up. Volunteers primarily come from students in our classes but also come from the community, family and friends. Volunteers have voiced to us many times that they volunteer because they wish to "give back" to the Cultural Arts Center and the community. Our philosophy is that we all have moments in our lives when we have time and energy to volunteer and then times when we do not. Some of us may never take on a volunteer role. But if you have the desire, the ability and that extra 25th hour in the day, perhaps you would like to join us! If so, contact Jennifer Johnson, our Arts Administrator, at 614-645-7514.

Board members help out at the opening of the Student Show but also have a great time doing it!
The volunteers are (from left to right) Sheri-Lynn Caffey, Sarah-Jane Workman, Pat Pilliterri and Jim Strecker (a long-term valued student and volunteer recently deceased).
