ACHIEVEMENTS: Has over 20 years experience in the commercial jewelry industry.

Pat Bullen, Fiber Arts Instructor
TEACHES: Weaving, Beading, Knitting & Crochet, Dyeing. Spinning and Felting Modules are frequently worked into my weaving classes. I also teach beading at Byzantium & Ally Beads. I teach weaving, spinning and color workshops at seminars and guilds all over the US. I have taught workshops in Canada, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Tennessee, Arizona, New York, Kentucky and of course Ohio.
EDUCATION: Studied two years at Ohio State University in Fine Arts, including one year under Weaving Instructor Clara Creager, focusing on weaving and spinning, plus numerous seminars and workshops across the country.
ACHIEVEMENTS: I taught a Color Blending Workshop at Conversgence 2000 (a worldwide gathering of about 1500 fiber artists). I was a Keynote Speaker at MAWS - Montana Annual Weaving & Spinning gathering in 2000 and taught a Color Blending and Spinning class as well. Yardage I wove was accepted in a juried exhibit at Convergence 2002. Over 500 fabrics were entered, only 65 accepted. The Central Ohio Weaver's Guild made me a lifetime member in 2002 for my contributions to weaving and our guild. I was the Ohio representative for the Handweaver's Guild of America 2000-2004.
I've had 51 fiber or wool-related articles published in The Shepherd, Handwoven and Fiber Focus - all magazines with international distributorship. Many of my articles have appeared in guild publications throughout the US. My video, "Color Blending Without Tools", sold over 400 copies worldwide.
My company, "Bullen's Wullens", was formed in 1984 focusing on providing quality dyed wool top to spinners, felters, and weavers. As part of the business I developed over 100 workshops to promote the use of wool and other fibers. My workshops touch on all the fiber arts - weaving, spinning, felting, knitting, color blending, surface design, beading and dyeing.
ENJOYS: My Hobbies are fiber arts and gardening. I grow 500 varieties of Daylillies.

Barbara Frost, Copper Enameling Instructor
TEACHES: Metal Enameling.
EDUCATION: Graduated from Ohio University and is a registered architech and interior designer in both Ohio and Pennsylvania in her own company; attends numerous enameling conferences where she has met some of the world's best enamelists.
ACHIEVEMENTS: This summer she will be again featured in the Lancaster Festival's Art Walk and will be showing her work in the 2008 Columbus Arts Festival Exhibition "Art Revealed: Works by Local Artists". Last year one of her large bowls won a special award from the Ohio Designers Craftsman in the professional division of the Ohio State Fair/Fine Arts Exhibits.
ENJOYS: In my "other spare time" I like to drive really fast in my 2006 Mini Cooper S around Nelson Ledges Racetrack. I used to drive competitively in the Sports Car Club of America regional races and national pro rallies but now I find that these on-track days are more fun at half the cost.

Kathy Grace, Ceramics Instructor
TEACHES: Ceramics and Expressive Pottery. I also teach Ceramics & Sculpture, and Art for Teachers at Ohio Dominican University.
EDUCATION: I earned Bachelor of Art degrees in Ceramics and Art Education from Theil College. I have taken numerous advanced clay workshops.
ACHIEVEMENTS: I am a Board member at Ohio Designer Craftsman.
ENJOYS: My Hobbies are Gardening, Golf and Volleyball. I am an avid collector of vintage diner dishes.

Walter Herrmann, Clay Sculpture and Stone Carving Instructor
TEACHES: Clay Sculpture and Stone Carving.
EDUCATION: In 1998 I received a BFA from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, majoring in ceramics and minoring in art history.
ACHIEVEMENTS: I have a stone carving piece in the French Embassy in Malasia. I have my own functioning studio. I was part of Codyno Art Group - we had 18 exhibitions in one year where no one showed the same piece twice. I have a showroom/gallery in my home where clients can set up appointments to buy pieces (stone and clay). I also work with plastics, fabric, textiles, and more.
ENJOYS: Hiking, relic hunting, volleyball, baseball, good conversation and even better, a good silence. I bartend 40 hours a week at the Hey Hey Bar and Grill on Whittier Street. I am a collector of all kinds: old bottles, art, coins, cards, etc.
Walt tells his students: "You'll get more out of hard work than talent".
Juanita Hill, Enameling and Jewelry Instructor
TEACHES: Advanced Copper Enameling and Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Jewelry.
EDUCATION: I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
ACHIEVEMENTS: I have taught pottery, china painting, puppetry, quilting, enameling and jewelry.
ENJOYS: I am studying classical piano and theory.

Kristi Kloss, Jewelry Instructor
TEACHES: Beginning and Advanced Jewelry and Open Studio Jewelry.
EDUCATION: I received my first taste of metalsmithing in high school and I went on to receive my Bachelor of Fine Art in Jewelry and Metals from Kent State University. I then earned an Master of Fine Art in Art from East Carolina University.
ACHIEVEMENTS: I have a pin in permanent collection at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, England; a hat / vessel in the permanent traveling collection of the Women in Textile Arts Association; and I am a 3-time award winner at the Ohio State Fair. I have also taught at Columbus College of Art and Design and Ohio Wesleyan University. I have an upcoming website: ksquaredmetals.com.
ENJOYS: I enjoy reading, biking, hiking and gardening.

Sandra Lang, Ceramics Instructor
TEACHES: Ceramics. I also teach ceramics to adults in my own studio; ceramics at Columbus School for Girls Summer School; and art at Ballet Met Summer Dance Camp.
EDUCATION: I received a Bachelor of Fine Art from Columbus College of Art and Design, majoring in ceramics and sculpture.
I have taught clay, sculpture and Raku workshops throughout the U.S.
ACHIEVEMENTS: For 20 years, I have worked and free-lanced in commercial industry doing design, model sculpting and prototype work. Also, I have juried arts and crafts shows. I own and operate Langweil Studios along with my husband and partner Walter Weil.
ENJOYS: I enjoy playing with friends.

James Mason, Bronze Casting Instructor

EDUCATION: I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art and Design; I also attended OSU College of Engineering.
ACHIEVEMENTS: I am nationally known for my re-creation of Georges Seurat's famous painting Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, a topiary garden located in Columbus' Deaf School Park. My topiary sculpture has won numerous awards and has been featured in many national and international publications. I was responsible for the restoration of the ornate eagle and shield on the northeast corner of the brick wall surrounding the Cultural Arts Center.
ENJOYS: I enjoy singing: I am a Member of Ohio Village Singers.

Sharone Putter, Jewelry, Printmaking and Drawing Instructor

EDUCATION: BFA, Printmaking and Glass from Alfred University, NY., BA in Philosophy and Art History from Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel.
ACHIEVEMENTS: Two of my prints were published in Y2k - Embracing the New Millenium (the catalog of the exhibition), Central Academy of Fine Arts (Beijing, China) January, 2000. My print “Boy-Balloon” was aquired by the Herrick/Dressner Collection, Alfred, NY. Through extensive traveling and participation in various art venues, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of materials and artistic processes. I am committed to passing on that which I was so lucky to acquire. My experiences include: Jewelry-Apprenticeship in Jerusalem, Israel. China-Restoration in Dublin, Ireland. Glass & Bronze Casting in Frauenau, Germany. Glass Flameworking in Zelezny-Brod, Czech Republic and Vintage Jewelry Restoration in Columbus, OH.

Emily Reiser, Book and Paper Arts Instructor
TEACHES: Book and Paper Art
EDUCATION: I received my Bachelor of Fine Art from Ohio University and my Master of Fine Art from the Columbia College Chicago Center for Book and Paper Arts where I was awarded a Follett fellowship. I have also taken classes in writing, printmaking, bookbinding and papermaking at the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina and the Marchutz School of Drawing and Painting in Aix-en-Provence, France. I have taught art to all ages in public schools, art centers and for the Museum of Contempory Art in Chicago
ACHIEVEMENTS: My work has been exhibited in galleries and art centers across the United States and also havs been included in such collections as the Art Institute of Chicago Joan Flasch Artist Book Collection, Columbia College, the Ringling School of Art Artist Book Collection and many private collections.
ENJOYS: Teaching art, sailing, cooking, biking and playing with my little girls.

Denise Romecki, Ceramics, Stone Carving and Clay Sculpture Instructor
TEACHES: Ceramics, Stone Carving, Clay Sculpture and Advanced Clay Sculpture.
EDUCATION: I received my Bachelor of Fine Art from the Columbus College of Art and Design and my Master of Fine Art from The Ohio State University.
ACHIEVEMENTS: I have exhibited my award-winning sculpture in regional and national juried shows.

Ric Stewart, Bronze Casting Instructor
TEACHES: Bronze Casting.
EDUCATION: I studied welding and served a two year apprenticeship in pattern-making. I am a self-taught painter and have done many custom airbrushed murals and designs. I studied bronze casting under Jim Mason for several years.
ACHIEVEMENTS: My sculptures and paintings sell in Europe, across the USA, Australia and Alaska. I have received over 70 commissions from the BMW Corporation over the past two years. I curated the General Dynamics bi-annual spring art show in 2007.
ENJOYS: I especially like two things: to preserve history and to create things that are pleasing to look at.

Jon Wahling, Textile/Surface Design Instructor
TEACHES: Suface Design, Beginners and Advanced.
EDUCATION: I received my Bachelor of Fine Art from Kansas City Art Institute and School of Design and a Master of Fine Art from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Elsewhere, I teach 3-dimensional Design at Columbus State Community College.
ACHIEVEMENTS: I am nationally known for my weaving and sculpture in paper. My work has appeared in numerous one and two-man exhibitions. I am listed in "Who's Who in American Art."
ENJOYS: I enjoy cooking, gardening and traveling.

Bonnie Weir, Painting and Drawing Instructor
TEACHES: The Fundamentals School Painting and Drawing, Color and Design Fundamentals, and Watercolor Painting. I also teach Design and Color at the Columbus College of Art and Design.
EDUCATION: I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art and Design and a Master of Art in Visual Arts from Anitoch University.
ACHIEVEMENTS: Elsewhere, I have over 20 years experience as an artist and have taught on all levels. My classes are designed for the student who wants to learn the basics of two-dimensional art.
ENJOYS: I enjoy exploring various world cultures that impact my paintings and installations and currently, I am focused on Japan. In addition to creating are work and teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends either on the dance floor or in a good restaurant.
